African Children's Choir Again

These wonderful little kids were in town again. I couldn’t pass up their heart warming performance one last time before they hit the road for a few years. A huff & a puff, blow those 4 candles away

Twin brothers Dillon and Domonic celebrate their 4th Birthday together with friends and family this afternoon. The party was held a gymnasitic gym with a cool pirate theme. These boys sure had the energy to keep everyone on their toes.

Silhouette Sunset

This changes everything I said yesterday about the rush for the sunset photo. On my peaceful evening walk the sun was setting once again and way worth a photo or two. As my husband waits while I snap a few pictures of the sky he unknowingly became the subject of my photo. I thought it looked cool having him just a silhouette with the awesome skyline. I also thought long about making my “SOTD” a sunset photo two days in a row. But, this photo was taken so differently then yesterday and a good shot.

So here is a tip, when taking photos think of all the ways you can use the same type of thing in a similar way.

The Sunset Race

A race of the clock again. These wonderful sunsets look so good after the job is done. Today like most sunset days I’m cruising around town I see a cool sunset forming and the BIG rush starts, will I beat the clock again? All I can say is you wouldn’t want to be a passenger in my car when I’m on a sunset mission. All looks peaceful but is it really? Well, when this shot is being taken it is. Fridge ABC magnets are so much fun as a kid and grown ups too, until the kids learn how to spell.

I was looking around the house for my “Shot of the Day” and the ABC’S and 123’s caught my eye. What words can you find in these jumbled up letters?

Whether you are 4 or 40 there is nothing like testing new make up. Is it a good color for me? For an afternoon event with little kids buy some kiddie make up. Let them go to town putting on their own new products while you just sit and watch or take pictures (like me). It is just to sweet, to see how much fun it is for them to feel so fancy. I loved this “SOTD” in black and white with just the color on the lipstick.

Not A Crabby New Years Eve!!!

Here is to my Grandma!!!

She started a family tradition for us years ago. As logs as I can remember my “Mimaw” has celebrated her birthday a few hours early every year. She joins with her friends on New Years Eve and feast on crab in the comfort of her own home. So we did this in her honor tonight just with miles between us. We were not sitting at the same table but we were doing the same thing.

The thing that makes this so special to me is that my Mimaw was diagnosed with cancer just a few months back. She is doing so great and not letting it stop her live her life. I was hoping this New Years Day Birthday Girl had it in her to celebrate her birthday as normal, which she did! When I call her at 12:10 AM to do the yearly Birthday greeting she sounded as good as ever. Telling me “This is a good year I’m turning 77 in 2007, what great numbers, it is going to be a great year”. I couldn’t have said this any better.

This is not my best “SOTD” photo but nothing can ever change how this photo has touched my heart. Keep living your life as long as you can. Don’t let anything slow you down!!! Do what you love and all shall work out.

Walking Shadows

Walking shadows was taken during a nature shoot today. So many things to look at but large people shadows thrown from the afternoon sun caught my eye this time. Wwwwaaaahhh!!!

This is not what you usually hear coming out of Jack’s tiny little mouth. Happy as a clam smiling and talking to us until… the camera is pulled out to snap a few shots. So what did we do keep on snapping, well it is real life and this is what babies do. So next time your taking photos and the happy subject is not so happy any more keep on clicking you could end up with a keeper shot.

UFO ~ unidentified flaming object

This Christmas gift became the victim of my “Shot of the Day”. Looking around the house I need something new to shoot and here it is. While looking at the photo on the computer with my husband he said, “it looks like a flying saucer” so some names I thought of are Fire saucer or burning but I think it is UFO ~ unidentified flaming object.

Cow on the hill

This photo is so much a child hood memory if mine. I went to my parent’s house (the home I grew up in) tonight. It has a wonderful view of a hill with a fallen over tree stump. I have seen this for years and this evening with the sun setting on a chilly winter night it stopped me to take my “Shot of the Day” photo. This hill has always been the same, two palm trees and the stump that looks a cow from one side and a mouse from the other. This will put a childhood smile on my face forever.

Merry Christmas to me!!!

Well most of my gifts this year are going to help me take better photos of you. This is my biggie a Cannon 30D. I love the reflection of the old camera in the new LCD. So I guess I could say Merry Christmas to us.

The reality of everyday life is getting back in place slowly but surely for me how about you?

Well this sweet little Lily was going to be the BIG gift of the holiday but she arrived a few weeks early. So what better to have the "Shot of the Day" our gift playing with her gift. This crazy little kitten loved her toys almost as much as all the wrapping paper and boxes.

Santa's Cookies

No way the day of all days is here. Well almost here. Did you leave cookies for Santa and carrots for Rudolph? Well we did and this is by far the most deserving “Shot of the Day” !!! Even though family time was caught by the camera today but the festivities have just begun. So bring out your camera and don’t be afraid to take too many photos this Christmas day.
